Why natural skincare?

Natural skincare and the increasing use of naturally sourced ingredients is becoming the norm in the beauty industry. Most, if not all, skincare brands now claim to be natural, or use organic and sustainably sourced ingredients. While these products may contain natural or organic ingredients, they’re also filled with artificial preservatives, parabens and fragrance which are toxic and not natural at all.

When I opened up my skincare clinic, I needed a 100% botanical, effective product that would stand up to all the skin conditions I would need to successfully treat, while remaining competitive with all the other mainstream beauty therapy  brands. There was nothing on the market that I could find to match my needs, and that is why earth4me was designed. A range of products that I could trust, using ingredients that are ethically-sourced and in their purest form, without any toxic ingredients.

What is the definition of ‘natural’ skincare?

For me, natural skincare can be summed up by the saying, ‘if you can grow it, pick it, or dig it, then it’s natural’. Let’s do an experiment together. Pick up one of your favourite natural skincare products. Read the label. Does it contain parabens, fragrance or other preservative? If it doesn’t have any of these, then keep using it!

A quick Google search can tell you what each ingredient is. Most mainstream skincare products will contain at least one, or all of these products. While it may have natural or organic ingredients, having these toxic ingredients negates the effect of those good ingredients, so you won’t see any real long-term benefit for your skin.

Natural skincare is also about how ingredients are sourced, how the product is manufactured and the packaging it comes in. This is my ethos I follow when creating my products:

  • has a low carbon footprint for suppliers and the distribution locations
  • supporting Australian businesses by using locally sourced ingredients
  • no testing or cruelty to animals
  • sourced from sustainable and environmentally safe locations
  • non sustainable palm-oil free
  • created in a clean, hygienic and sanitised work environment
  • keeping the packaging biodegradable using glass and aluminum, which is easily recycled

Using products that are 100% natural, or as close to will have incredible long-term benefits for your skin and your overall health.

We all know our skin is our largest organ, and it absorbs and ‘digests’ everything we put into it – so all those non-naturally occurring parabens, fragrances and preservatives you put on your skin is being processed by your body and will have long-term effects on your overall health. We’ve seen the recent movement towards natural deodorants, with studies showing the aluminum in deodorants can cause cancer, so why shouldn’t we make the switch to 100% pure skincare?

Make the switch to natural skincare with an online consultation with Natasha

Book an online consultation with me where we will sit down, grab a herbal tea and chat about all things skin. Prior to the consult, you would have filled in the online form and attached photos of your skin (unfiltered!) and outlined your main skin concerns so at the consult we can dive right in and get into the nitty gritty of why your skin is acting the way it is.

We can also go through the ingredients in your current skincare routine and identify what is good, and isn’t good for your skin. Following this, we’ll discuss a custom skincare routine using products I can make especially for you, using a range of specific botanical herbs and plant oils your skin needs to help you achieve your desired results. All my products are hand-crafted and made in small batches, ensuring freshness and the maximum potency of the ingredients.

Included in the service is on-going support and follow up, as my focus is on long-term benefits rather than superficial quick fixes. As you go through your skincare journey with me, we can continually alter your products and ingredients to suit your skin concerns. Whether it is via video, text message or even a phone call, I am here to provide support and advice as your use my products and treatments.

I encourage you to browse my website to learn more about myself, the business and the products I have created for clients. If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to get in touch – I’m a simple email away, or send me a DM on my Facebook page (earth4me).

  • Exfoliating grains: exfoliating  boosts lymphatic drainage, evens out skin tone, increases collagen synthesis and promotes cell turnover.  It also prevents acne by eliminating excess oils form being trapped and becoming infected. It is important to exfoliate so the dead skin cells dont become a barrier between your skin and your nourishing serums.
